What is alloClae made of?
alloClae is derived from carefully screened donor fat that undergoes a rigorous purification process to ensure safety, sterility, and the elimination of any risk of disease transmission. What sets alloClae apart is its proprietary processing technology, developed by Tiger Aesthetics, which preserves the natural honeycomb structure of the fat. This innovative method effectively removes impurities while maintaining the structural integrity of the tissue, allowing alloClae to closely mimic the body’s natural fat. This unique feature is key to its functionality, providing a natural-looking and long-lasting solution for body contouring and enhancement.
Can alloClae Be Used for a Liquid BBL?
For some patients, alloClae can be a good option for a non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure, also known as a “liquid BBL.” Traditionally, BBLs involve 360-degree liposuction and transfer of the fat to the buttocks. This commonly requires general anesthesia and that the patient have enough fat to harvest. In contrast, alloClae provides a minimally invasive alternative by utilizing an advanced structural adipose filler. This is a lunch-time procedure with minimal downtime and no general anesthesia.
How is alloClae different than Leneva or Renuva?
alloClae differs from Leneva and Renuva in that it contains a combination of adipose cells, adipose extracellular matrix (the matrix that “ties” fat cells together like a grapevine), and a biocompatible oil that facilitates smooth injection. In contrast, both Leneva and Renuva are composed solely of acellular adipose extracellular matrix, designed to serve as a scaffold that encourages the body to regenerate its own fat over time. Leneva and Renuva do not contain viable fat cells or oil.
How much volume of alloClae is needed for a Liquid BBL?
For a noticeable enhancement, a liquid BBL typically requires at least 100 cc of volume per side (and sometimes much more). Given that alloClae is available in 12.5 cc, 25 cc, and 50 cc vials, a patient may achieve visible liquid BBL results with as little as two vials per side. This makes alloClae a practical option for some individuals seeking subtle to moderate enhancement without the downtime, risks, or fat-harvesting requirements of traditional BBL surgery.
Can alloClae Be Used to Fill Hip Dips?
Yes, for some patients, alloClae may be a good option for filling hip dips. Note, hip dips occur naturally due to the structure of the pelvis, but for individuals looking to create a more rounded and seamless curve, alloClae might provide a minimally invasive alternative to fat grafting or implants.
Typically, correcting hip dips requires between 10-50 cc of volume per side, depending on the individual’s anatomy and desired outcome. With its availability in 12.5 cc, 25 cc, and 50 cc vials, correction may be achieved in as little as 1-2 vials in total.
What are Other Areas alloClae can be used?
Where alloClae can be used for each patient requires a consultation with a doctor, as some indications may be off-label. Possible alternative locations for use include the face, breast, body, or labia. For example, in breast cancer patients who have undergone radiation therapy, alloClae may be considered for non-surgical breast reconstruction, particularly in patients with smaller breasts. alloClae can also serve as a secondary treatment to address liposuction deformities or contour irregularities. In facial rejuvenation, alloClae injections may restore volume and improve both cosmetic and functional outcomes. Additionally, it can be applied for volume restoration in the back of the hands to enhance aesthetic appearance. Ultimately, a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon is necessary to determine if you are a candidate for alloClae.
What are the Benefits of alloClae?
1. Natural-Looking Results
AlloClae uses human-derived fat. This helps ensure that enhancements blend seamlessly with the body’s existing tissues.
2. Minimally Invasive Procedure
Traditional fat grafting procedures require liposuction to harvest fat from the patient’s body. This commonly requires general anesthesia, post-operative lymphatic massage, and post-operative recovery. alloClae eliminates the need for general anesthesia and post-operative lymphatic massage. Additionally, the recovery time is similar to other fillers. This helps patients achieve their desired aesthetic goals without undergoing extensive surgery.
What is the Downtime After alloClae?
alloClae is a quick, in-office procedure that can be performed on most patients, much like hyaluronic acid fillers for the face. The treatment is minimally invasive, allowing patients to return to their daily activities with little to no downtime. Following the procedure, some mild soreness is expected, similar to other injectable treatments.
For optimal results when addressing body contouring, I typically recommend treating the area as one would after a traditional fat graft—avoiding direct pressure on the treated site for approximately six weeks. While we do not yet have clinical data confirming that this precaution is necessary, it might be considered best practice to support the best possible outcome.
What Else Should I Do or Not Do After alloClae?
After receiving alloClae or any adipose-derived injection, I commonly advise my patients:
- Keep Injection Sites Clean: Maintain cleanliness at the injection sites to reduce the risk of infection. Avoid swimming or soaking in baths until the injection sites have fully healed.
- Avoid Pressure on Treated Areas.
- Maintain a Healthy Diet: It’s important to eat healthy and avoid weight loss during the healing period. Losing weight anywhere else on the body can negatively affect the area(s) injected with alloClae.
- Limit Strenuous Exercise: Engaging in intense workouts or activities that strain the body can disrupt the healing process and impact the effectiveness of the procedure. I typically recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for at least 3-4 weeks following the treatment to allow fat to more fully integrate into the surrounding tissue.
