Large Labia Minora
When the labia minora are aesthetically larger than desired or cause discomfort, a procedure called labiaplasty is often recommended. This surgery reduces the size of the labia minora by removing excess tissue and placing the scar discreetly in the natural crease between the labia majora and minora. Dr. Desrosiers employs a meticulous approach to labiaplasty, prioritizing both aesthetic outcomes and the preservation of natural functions. This technique hides the scar in the natural crease and aims to maintain the natural contours and functions of the labia while addressing concerns related to size or asymmetry.

Labia Majora Volume Loss
Volume loss in the labia majora, which can occur with age or weight fluctuations, may leave the area appearing deflated or wrinkled. Surgical and non-surgical options can address this concern.
Non-Surgical: Non-surgical correction involves injecting fillers like Leneva® or hyaluronic acid to restore fullness. Leneva® stimulates fat growth over several months, while hyaluronic acid is absorbed by the body over time. Click on the link for a YouTube video on Leneva® injections for labia majora augmentation.
Surgical: Dr. Desrosiers is a pioneer in labia majora augmentation with dermal-fat grafts. He wrote a landmark article in 2012 published in the Journal of Plastic Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery. Click the link below to see the full article.
Another surgical approach is to perform Liposuction with fat grafting; this can also address volume loss in the labia majora. This procedure harvests fat from another part of the body and transfers it to the labia majora to restore volume.

Inability to Have an Orgasm / Large Clitoral Hood
Excess skin over the clitoris, or a large clitoral hood, can sometimes interfere with sexual sensation or cause aesthetic concerns. A clitoral hood reduction removes the extra tissue, enhancing both appearance and sensitivity for some individuals.
A clitoral hood reduction is a surgical procedure aimed at reducing the size or prominence of the clitoral hood, the fold of skin that covers and protects the clitoris. Excess folds of the clitoral hood, or prepuce, can be reduced with a clitoral hood reduction. The procedure is often performed simultaneously with a labiaplasty. This procedure is typically performed to address concerns related to excess skin of the clitoral hood, which may cause discomfort, reduce sexual pleasure, and in some cases, be an aesthetic concern for some individuals.

Painful Scar from an Episiotomy
An episiotomy, or a tear during childbirth, can leave behind painful scars if not properly healed. If a patient is experiencing ongoing pain or discomfort due to scarring from an episiotomy or tear, dyspareunia, or pain, then a surgical revision may be an option. This procedure cuts out the old scar and carefully reapproximates the tissues. The tissue is then closed layer by layer with sutures to help ensure proper tissue alignment and optimal healing. A scar revision surgery can address the patient’s discomfort, smoothing the area and improving the overall appearance.

Excess Tissue Above the Labia Majora
Some individuals may have extra skin and/or fat above the labia majora that presses down or hides it. This can be corrected with a labialift (also called a monsplasty). This procedure removes excess tissue and lifts the area, and can be performed for various reasons, including addressing physical discomfort, enhancing appearance, or as part of gender-affirming surgery. Often, this procedure is combined with a mini tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.
